Recently, Profoto lent me a pair of their prototype off-camera flashes to test for a magazine article. They're big boy strobe lights built for the rigors of on-location shooting. Luckily, Amanda and John had recently gotten engaged and a great local bar needed a few promotional photos, so I managed to kill three birds with a single photographic stone.
The result is a hybrid shoot that's actually a bit outside my typical camera comfort zone. Some things I can say for sure, though:
- Amanda and John are awesome subjects. Great sports and amazing fun to work with
- Marotta's Tunnel Lounge is a great space in Schenectady and you should check it out
- 7-foot parabolic umbrellas are every bit as big as they sound
