Thanks to my wife, I've been around the Crossfit community for several years now—in fact, I just recently started my own training. In that time, I've met a ton of awesome and inspirational people, and Dona certainly fits that category. She's currently on a social media campaign to challenge Jimmy Fallon to a Crossfit workout on his TV show. She even made a video to challenge him.
The Troy Record picked up Dona's story today, so we shot some environmental portraits of her to go along with the story. She's an amazing lady and it would be awesome to see her schooling (upstate NY local boy) Jimmy Fallon in the fine art of the clean and jerk on national TV.
So, share the video and the photos (feel free to grab them from this post), tag Jimmy Fallon on Facebook and hit him up on Twitter. Go, Internet!
[PHOTO NERD SECTION: We had a pretty short window with which to shoot this, so the setup is pretty simple. It was shot on the Canon 5D Mark III with a 70-200mm F/2.8L IS. The light is the new Phottix battery-powered mono-light (which I'm currently reviewing for Popular Photography) fired into a Profoto XL Deep White umbrella. The rim light is a Phottix Mittros+ with no modifier.]
